Samson
Samson is known as the “Strongest Name in Rope” and that’s not just a fancy, unfounded tagline, they are current holders of one of the oldest trademarks in the United States and for good reason. It’s easy to overlook this company, rope isn’t the most glamorous product but it is an essential tool in some of the more crucial industries throughout the world. Most people can’t fathom the level of engineering that goes into every aspect of their ropes and lines. It was a privilege to work with such a storied brand, helping them communicate the wide array of benefits delivered by their superior product.
Samson Splicing Manual
This is probably my most important contribution to Samson over the years, I was involved in 3 revisions of this tome. knot & Rope Supply have dubbed it “THE splicing bible” and it has taken decades to amass the contents and years of refinements to many splices to reach the point we did with this latest (2017) version of the manual. I was merely a conduit, translating the technician’s and engineer’s tireless work into a clean and understandable set of step-by-step instructions and illustrations.
See below for a sample of splice instructions.
It’s All About Rope
A series of informational videos developed to promote an explain the benefits of using Samson rope as well as many other concepts, safety information and tips about the use of ropes in different applications. After developing all of the graphic assets, I produced the videos through a combination of Prezi, Camtasia and GarageBand.
Email Campaigns
This is just a sampling of the many outreach and invite campaigns the Samson would regularly send out to it’s customers as well as business affiliates for promotions as well as to promote upcoming conventions and other events.
Animated Web Banners
I have built a number of animated web banners for Samson over the years, the format is so specific and it was always a challenge to create something that was eye catching, informational and fit within the parameters of each specific site’s rules and file size limits.
